if.team has updated the P&L functionality so business owners and managers without a financial background can better understand their company’s true earnings. Now the report allows separate tracking of dividends, investments, and capital injections — without distorting the real profit of the business.

What is P&L in simple terms

P&L (Profit and Loss) is a report showing a company’s profits and losses. It reveals how much money the business earned, how much it spent, and the resulting financial outcome over a specific period.

This report helps to:

  • understand the business’s performance;
  • control expenses;
  • make informed management decisions.

In its traditional form, P&L is often a set of dry numbers that can be hard for non-specialists to understand. But at if.team, we’ve simplified this tool into an intuitive and useful interface.

How P&L works in if.team

At if.team, we designed the P&L so business owners and managers without financial education can quickly and easily understand their company’s financial status.

All financial accounting in the P&L is closely linked to the tasks and projects you manage in if.team. Each project has its own settings, including hourly rates, budgets, and statuses. This allows all financial data to be automatically pulled from current tasks and projects.

Additionally, if.team integrates with Monobank and PrivatBank accounts, enabling automatic import of all transactions. This minimizes manual work and helps keep your business finances always up to date.

Thanks to simplicity, automation, and flexibility, if.team users can:

  • track profits and losses in real time;
  • see main sources of income and expenses;
  • make quick and well-informed management decisions to grow their business.

What’s new in the P&L update

The latest update from if.team includes several important features designed to help you more accurately track your business’s financial flows and separate different types of transactions.

Separate tracking of dividends and owner income in P&L

You can now record dividends or other owner income in a dedicated category. This helps keep personal funds separate from business money, avoiding confusion in financial reports.

Separate tracking of company capital injections, investments, and recapitalization

Now investments and additional funds injected into the business can also be recorded separately in the P&L. This lets you see how much money came into the company “from outside,” without mixing it with operational income.

These new options also help those who prefer analyzing data step-by-step—not just by deadlines, but according to the logic of the process.

Excluding transactions from the main P&L report

All the mentioned categories can now be excluded from the main report to clearly see the business’s true net income without the “noise” from personal or investment-related transactions.
